Moms & Moms-to-be
60 minutes of thorough 1-on-1 care with your provider; offering a unique and integrated health care approach
We are bringing it ALL to you, mama: chiropractic care, manual therapy and safe exercises. Aiming to keep you empowered, connected and strong. Each session with Dr. Sammy is an hour long and provides a detailed approach to your needs, whether you are preparing for pregnancy, currently pregnant or reconnecting to your body after baby.
I always remind our moms that “this is what your body was made to do…you are living your fullest expression right now!” Unfortunately there is a broad lack of resources for moms on how to properly continue to care for their body before, during, and after baby. This often leads to inaction and dysfunction down the road.
In my prior experience as a personal trainer, perinatal fitness/movement provider, as well as working at a perinatal clinic, I found the combination of chiropractic, manual therapy and rehabilitative / safe exercises to be the most impactful and needed for mamas. In fact, most moms were often trying to find the time to make separate appointments for all of these things. Which is not only a big time and financial commitment, but is often confusing where they are often working with cookie cutter programs or providers that don’t co-manage.
Our unique back ground at Origin Chiropractic in personal training, manual therapy, and chiropractic allows us to solve that problem for you; offering a holistic health care approach, hands on healing and exercise programs that are safe and personalized to each individual.
Chiropractic care offers gentle adjustments to enhance nerve function, promoting overall wellness (for both you and your baby) as well as ensure proper alignment of the spine and pelvis.
At Origin we offer Webster Certified care. This technique aims to optimize pelvic biomechanics, nerve function, and musculoskeletal balance during pregnancy. The Webster technique is particularly beneficial for pregnant individuals experiencing sacral misalignment, pelvic imbalance, or intrauterine constraint.
One of the primary benefits of Webster chiropractic care is its ability to alleviate discomfort associated with pregnancy-related musculoskeletal issues. By addressing pelvic misalignments and tension in the surrounding muscles and ligaments, this technique can help reduce common symptoms such as lower back pain, hip pain, and sciatica. By restoring proper pelvic alignment, the Webster technique may also facilitate an optimal fetal position, potentially reducing the likelihood of breech presentation.
Manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue manipulation, IASTM (Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), pin and stretch active release and cupping can release tension in muscles and ligaments, improving circulation, flexibility and ultimately function. This can alleviate the physical strain associated with pregnancy, helping you move and function more comfortably. Manual therapy is a wonderful and often needed adjunct to chiropractic care.
And where the real magic happens… exercise. Incorporating movement into your routine through positional breathing, core centered exercises, low-impact and strength exercises improves muscle tone, posture, function and supports emotional well-being. I believe that the chiropractic adjustment adjunct with manual therapy are amazing suggestions to the nervous system (your brain- the Queen of the body) but the true and lasting change happens with how you move…how you live! Whether you are active and want to stay active, you want to get back to being active or you just want to feel good in your body again. We are here to be your guide:
