FAQ

  • What is Chiropractic?

Think of your nervous system (Your brain, spinal chord and nerves) like a tree, with the spine as its sturdy trunk and the nerves branching out like roots, spreading throughout your body. Just as a tree needs strong roots to thrive, your body relies on clear pathways for nerve signals to flow smoothly. Sometimes, like when a tree's roots get tangled or blocked, stress or misalignments in your spine can disrupt this flow, causing dysfunction, limited mobility or discomfort. Chiropractors act like skilled gardeners, gently adjusting the spine to untangle any knots and ensure those nerve "roots" can nourish every part of your body effectively. With this clear pathway restored, your body can flourish! When the brain is able to have clear communication with the body, and the body with the brain this means your body's physiology operates more efficiently, enhancing functions such as digestion, circulation, and immune response. Biomechanics, or the way your body moves and functions, also benefit from this clear communication, leading to better posture, flexibility, and coordination. Lastly, and maybe the most impactful is the effect on mental health. Improved neural communication can lead to reduced stress, anxiety, and depression while fostering clarity, focus, and emotional resilience. Overall promoting a sense of complete well being.

  • What is Craniopathy?

Craniopathy, a specialized approach within chiropractic care, acknowledges the crucial role of cranial movement and growth in shaping nervous system function, particularly during the critical early years of life. The skull's malleability during infancy and early childhood allows for significant cranial growth and movement. This not only directly influences the development and function of the nervous system, but the symmetry of the face and skull, development and function of the airway, as well as the spine.

By addressing restrictions and imbalances within the skull and cranial bones, craniopathy aims to optimize cranial motion, promoting optimal nervous system function and enhanced flow of cerebrospinal fluid.

The cranial adjustment is accomplished through encouraged motions of a sustained hand held contact, sometimes facilitated by the recipient's breath, gentle added movement as well as muscle and fascial release. No HVLA (high velocity low amplitude) adjustments are used in this setting as these “joints” function different from the rest of the spine. Craniopathy seeks to restore balance and harmony within the cranial system, laying a foundation for lifelong health and well-being.
